What is CHI?

CHI stands for 'The Support Society for Children of High Intelligence' and is a support organisation for the benefit of the young and intellectually gifted. Our mission is to act directly on behalf of individual children whose intelligence level is above the 98th percentile with the aim of helping them realise their potential.

Services Offered by CHI

CHI membership. Family membership is £35.00 per annum. There is a printable membership application form here which has our postal address on it or you can get our address from the Contact page

3 issues of CHI News per annum free to members (otherwise £2.50)

Nationwide telephone counselling by contact members.

Advice by letter to parents, teachers or schools.

CHI Consultancy. Directors will visit schools to talk to heads, governing bodies and teachers.

CHI Screening IQ Test can be administered by parents or at classes.

CHI can advise on school procedures and if necessary refer pupils with long term difficulties to members of the Education Law Association (ELAS).

The DfES and OFSTED are contacted regularly by CHI. CHI takes part in the DfES termly standing conferences.

CHI has sat on various government advisory panels related to the provision for Gifted and Talented children.
